What is the job of the innocent fish?
does it toil in the fields
for its evening dish?

What is the job of the bird in the tree?
does it work in the shop
like you or me?

What is the job of the minute insect?
does it work for the government
or buildings erect?

Who feeds these creatures great & small
when no salary they earn
no, none at all.

Do they have families to feed
Houses to live in
and children or greed?

Wherein then there lies their yaqeen
that no worry for tomorrow
exist in their being.

It is only insaan [human beings], best of creation
whose concern for this world
heads them into devastation.

Isn't it their duaas that are accepted
their Ibaadat and amal [practice]
which are not rejected.

Yet it is this insaan, best of creation
who toils and strives
in maddened confusion.

No yaqeen in Allah - His Infinite Grace
but faith only
In this mad worldly race.

Oh Allah, grant us yaqeen
In Your favours upon us
seen or unseen.
