Some extracts and Ahaadith from 'Signs of the Unseen'- The Discourses of Hazrat Moulana Jalaluddin Rumi (Rahmatullah Alay)

1. Import not wisdom to the unworthy lest you wrong it, deny it not to the worthy lest you wrong them.

2. The Creator of thoughts is more subtle than thoughts. (Thoughts cannot be seen, nor do they have a place. The brain and body may be dissected but you will not find thoughts.

3. Hadith-Qudsi. "When Allah Ta'aala loves a servent, He afflicts him. If he is patient, He chooses him. If he is thankful, He makes him elect."

4. One who avoids the blameworthy is praiseworthy.

5. Hazrat Bayazid prayed to Allah Ta'aala- 'I want not to want.'
All your agonies arise out of wanting something that cannot be had.
