Radio Islam's Haraam WOW Programe

Post by Truth-Searcher on Fri Sep 04, 2009 6:26 pm

Issued by : Jamiatul Ulama Gauteng - ifta@thejamiat.co.za

Assalamu-Alaykum wa Rahmatullah

13th Ramadhaan 1430

4th September 2009

Yesterday, after sending off a bulk sms concerning the ‘Wow’
program hosted by Radio Shaytaan, we received a call from an anonymous
brother.

Masha-Allah, he came across as a decent Muslim brother and conducted
himself with dignity.

He sincerely wanted to know why The Jamiatul-Ulama Gauteng’s bulk
message labelled the program as Haraam.

Since many other people may also have this question on their minds,
we reproduce the answer given.

Brother: Why is the program Haraam?

J.U.G.: If you are prepared to conduct this conversation with
sincerity and decorum, Insha-Allah it will benefit both of us.

Brother: I am prepared to listen.

J.U.G: Do you agree that every SINGLE Word spoken by Nabi Sallallahu
Alayhi Wasallam is filled with an ocean of Hikmah (Wisdom) and
Guidance?

Brother: Yes, I agree that it is so, but certain Mufti’s...

J.U.G. Brother, please give us a chance to reply. And please remember
that our Mufti is Hadhrat Mufti Nabi Muhammed Sallallahu Alayhi
Wasallam. No Mufti can be greater than him. Now let’s see what our
Mufti Muhammed Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “ the Zina of the
tongue is speaking…” and “…the ear, its Zina is listening”
(Abu Dawood Kitaabun-Nikaa 1/ 292-3). Do you respect from the depths
of your heart the words of Rasullullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam?

Brother: Yes.

J.U.G: Now, brother how does the ear commit Zina?

Brother: By hearing a voice

J.U.G: Hearing whose voice and hearing what?

Brother: Hearing a woman speak in an alluring and charming tone.

J.U.G: Do you listen to the ladies on Radio Shaytaan?

Brother: Yes

J.U.G: Now be very, very truthful. It is the holy month of Ramadaan.
You are fasting. Allah Ta’aala is watching and listening to you. Are
you prepared to take an oath on the Holy Qur’aan that your heart is
NOT attracted to the ladies on the Radio station?

Brother: I can’t lie. My heart gets affected and attracted to them
and I do at times think how wonderful they must be. [/Readers can ask
themselves how his wife would feel at this confession of his!/]

J.U.G: Alhamdulillah, you are now seeing what we mean! In the Sight
of Allah and His Rasul Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, your ears are
committing Zina which in turn is leading your heart to committing
Zina. Rasullullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “the Zina of the
tongue is speaking…” and “…the ear, its Zina is listening”.

A few words it may appear to be, but it contains the recipe of a
successful marriage! Be careful of Shaytaan. Your avowed enemy will
not rest until he succeeds in DESTROYING your marriage. It is a fact
that the women on */the/* Radio Station are speaking in alluring and
harming tones.

Brother: But, ladies can’t speak gruffly on the radio?

J.U.G: The Radio Station is supposed to guard THE TEACHINGS OF
Rasullullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. Ask any man to take an oath on
The Holy Qur’aan if he is not affected by the voices of the women.
In fact, ask the Ulama who conduct the WOW programs if they do not
attempt to seduce the hearts of women with their “charm”?

When the Ummah – and especially Ulama and Mashaa-ikh indulge in
such acts of Zina, why should we not be afflicted with the dual Athaab
of crime and recession! We humbly request one and all to make Taubah
from this evil malady of Zina.

Brother: Jazakallah for clarifying my doubts. Now that I think of it,
the Moulana flirts with women on air!

/Important Note:/ Readers who feel offended by our description of
Radio “Islam” as “Radio Shaytaan” SHOULD NOT TAKE OFFENCE AS
Radio Islam themselves have now publicly admitted and that they
respect our views to refer to them as “Radio Shaytaan”.

The open blatant confession is what made me smile. Not, of course, what was confessed.

Asalamu Alaykum,

I don't completly agree with all this. Women are everywhere. If you go to a shop you will see a women and hear her voice. If you call a company you are more likely to be answered by a women.

So what about those women scholars? those women preachers? are they not allowed to go on TV or on the Radio?

what must people be aware of is we should have the respect to the opposite sex. We should be aware that Allah is watching us.

I am not saying that zina with the tongue or the ear does not happen and i agree with this but as i said we should be aware that Allah is watching us!

and this shouldn't stop women from going on TV or on the Radio...

Important Note:/ Readers who feel offended by our description of

I have never heard of Radio Islam before to be honest! but calling the RADIO shaytaan now thats just bad! and what radio will allow others to call their Radio shaytaan? Instead people should teach others instead of calling names. If the prophet Muhammaed was here between us would he call the Radio shaytaan? Nope i don't think so.

Again I am not saying this Radio is perfect... Things like this does happen.

If i am getting this wrong then please make this clear to me! I'd be more than happy if someone does. Jazakumallahu khayr.

Wa'alaykum salam sis.
I am going to do my best to try and explain this out.
Just because women are 'everywhere' (and you are right about that, they are) it doesnt mean that all women are one and the same. Muslim women by far differ from non-muslim women. They have Imaan and a certain way of life. Islam provides the most respect and best treatment towards women. However this can only happen if they follow the laws Allah Ta'aala has provided. If they are going to lower themselves to the status of kuffar women, respect will never come to them. How can they get respect if they wont respect themselves? How much respect do kuffar women have for themselves? By going on TV/RADIO a Muslim women will be like just any other women doing their best to sound appealing and look attractive. Where then is the niqaab? Hijaab of the voice? Above all, what is the necessity for her to go and display herself to all ghayr mahram males? Women who value Islam and themselves should try and follow the laws of Allah Ta'aala and conduct themselves with respect and dignity. Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: Women may not emerge (from their homes) except when compelled to (by circumstances)." How necessery is it for her to go and speak on air? If we say it is necessery to have radio to promote and preach Islam, even then then there is no need for women to go on air.
TV in itself is haraam. Images of animate objects are forbidden in Islam. So by going on TV, apart from sin of not adopting hijaab she will be sinning by allowing video footage of herself to be taken.
Because we know Allah Ta'aala is watching us we should take extra precaution in obeying Him and not risk His anger by going a step further than we are supposed to expecting the opposite sex to be knowing Allah Ta'aala is watching him too. His sin will be his and your sin will be yours.
Allahu Ta'aala A'lam.

Re: Radio Islam's Haraam WOW Programe

Radio Islam has erred greatly by allowing women on air inter alia. A woman's voice is purdah. It does not take an intelligent person to realize that a man will fall for such alluring tones in which the women speak in. The term "Radio Shaitaan" is thereby quite applicable.

While opinions differ greatly in these times, I understand each person has his/her own views on certain subjects.
May Allah Ta'ala grant us all Hidaayat & guide us towards the straight path.
Aameen.

Interesting topic although i cant help wondering: Isn't Radio Islam in South Africa? Others from the UK etc. wouldn't exactly understand & agree with the alias Radio Shaitaan.... I mean, I know it's quite fitting, but yet, it does sound harsh if you don't know Radio Islam.

Please correct me if i'm mistaken!

Firstly, sister, you should understand that this has nothing to do with respect or lack of it towards females. It has everything to do with following the commands of The Almighty Allah. What these people on the Radio are doing, they are doing it in the name of Islam, but in total violation of the Shariah.
There are plenty Aayaat in the Holy Qur'aan which i could state in defense should you request it.
Secondly, as you admit, you have never heard of the Radio before, should explain the total naivete in the statements you have made. It is not called "Radio Shaytaan" out of spite, but rather of the immoral, un-Islamic way the presenters have of conducting themselves around females, among other things, all in the name of Islam.
Last but not least, who's to say what the Beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam would have said/done? Just by assuming , as you have done, is clearly underestimating our Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam. When something is done with open disregard to Allah's laws, the commandments of the Shariah, you really think the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam would have termed it anything other than Shaytaanic?

Asalamu Alaykum,

Jazakallah khayr Akhi taalib and Ukhtie Amatur for explaining...

Sorry for the late reply I haevn't been online since that post i posted.

I was just reading a fatwa and it explains it well. And I understand it now but from understand why women can't go on the TV or radio another thought pops to my head.

What about the women scholars? even if there wearing the niqaab they still can't because of their voice right? But it was said that Ibn Taymiyya had female teachers... It was said that there were female scholars in the past whom the men would travel and then sit at their feet to learn from them...

Jazakumallahu Khayr again, I just want to learn thats why am here.
