[bold]Sunnats of the Holy Qur'aan Majeed[/bold]

1. To ensure that ones body and clothes are paak (clean)
2. To ensure that the place where the Qur'aan is to be recited, and surroundings, are clean.

3. To use a miswaak before reciting th Holy Qur'aan.

4. To make wudhu before recitation.

5. To sit facing Qiblah.

6. To plabe th Holy Qur'aan in a slightly elevated position.

7. To refrain from haste and urges to complete the recitation.

8. To weep when reading verses of fear and Jahannum and to express joy when reading verses of Jannah and glad tidings.

9. To read with Tajweed. (correct pronounciation)

10. To read 'A'oozu and Bismillah at the beginning.

11. To read with a sweet (distinct and pleasing) voice and not in a 'singing' tone.

12. To read in a loud voice if one does not apprehend insincerity (on his own part) or cause a disturbance to others. One should be especially cautious not to read the Holy Qur'aan loudly if it (such reading) shall cause a disturbance to any person reading salaah.

13. To refrain from talk of any sort whilst reading the Holy Qur'aan. However, if one is compelled by circumstance to talk, even if it is to answer the Islamic greeting, then one should resume ones recitation wih 'A'uzoo'.

14. Our Nabi Salallahu alayhi wasallam would not make 'khattam' (completion) of the Holy Qur'aan before 3 days.

JazakAllah for sharing it with us. I am going to try and practice on all of those sunnats insha'Allah especially now in the month of Ramadhaan when we read the Quraan Shareef more often.
