A LESSON FOR THE DEVOURERS OF INTEREST

One day Hadhrat Maalik Bin Dinaar (Rahimahullah) went to visit a sick man. He could see that the ailing man was in his death throes. Hadhrat Maalik made the 'talqeen' of the Kalimah to the man. But the man would only respond with the words, 'ten, eleven'. Suddenly he said: "O Sheikh! There is a mountain of fire in front of me. When I attempt to recite the Kalimah, the mountain begins to move towards me." When Hadhrat Maalik enquired from his family about the occupation of the man, they informed him that he was a moneylender who used to devour interest.
