What questions to ask potential partner?

What questions would you ask some one if they could possibly be a partner in life?

i think one of the questions that should be asked is what type of dressing does he/she likes.some like hijaab/kurta and some like their life long partners on the modern side.so its good to find out what u getting into.

Since you seeing the person, you should ask questions in accordance with what you see based on their/your outlook. Limit yourself to 3 questions which are important to you- only if you intrested in the person. I think it's extremely important to find out if he/she is short-tempered & what he/she is looking for in a partner. And like you say Amatur Rahmaan, if you not interested, why bother?

well 1stly,(from a girl's point!!) before allowing any guy to come & see you..you've got to do your "homework",is he someone who could possibly be "the one"?.. your father/guardian could find out 4 you. best people 2 ask reg his character would be colleagues & travelling companions. Hazrat Moulana Maseehullah Saheb(Hazratjee) adviced that when searching for a partner for a daughter, one should look for a soft-natured person, which in reality is a quality of piety!!

some people seem to think marriage is only for fulfilling needs and just for the sake of it.
obviously if they gave me an answer like "too keep away from zina" and nothing else to go with it, then it will be a straight no. :/

Marriage is much more than fulfilling desire.

Back on topic... what would i ask. hmm
I would most probably find out much about the person before i even see her.
Lifestyle, Character, Deen etc.
Asking in person, i i guess it depends on what i know already.

Im engaged Alhumdulillah. Well before my fiance came to see me we found out about him and his family.
Then i did istikhara before hand, and after this we called for a "meeting"
Its good to talk about;
Religion - Is he a God fearing person...? Will he help u in your deen?
Education
What he's looking for in his potential spouse.
His character- anger, sense of humour, bubbly etc etc
Occupation - if you want to discuss this or you can leave it up to your wali to do this job
The rest is totally up to you man
Whatever u think is convenient - these are just my opinions
